selena gomez style

Selena Gomez: Skull Sleeveless TopWe’ve already seen it on LIGHTS and Ellie Goulding, and now Selena Gomez is the latest celebrity to rock the Daydreamer LA Sweet Death Cutoff Sweatshirt from Urban Outfitters ($39.00). Selena wore this tank with a Russian vodka bottle graphic while grabbing a coffee this afternoon.

Selena Gomez Elle Magazine DressSelena Gomez is the cover girl for Elle Magazine’s July 2012 issue. One of the outfits that she wears in her fashion spread is this red peplum dress from Lanvin priced at $3,595. If you like the dress but not the price, fortunate you can score the look for much, much less. The ASOS Bandeau Dress with Peplum, pictured at right, is very similar and costs only $52.19!

Selena Gomez chiffon skirtSelena Gomez made an unexpected pairing when she matched bright fuchsia pumps to an otherwise neutral outfit. She wore a tan colored maxi skirt and a white tee with a long draped knot in the front. Get her look with Forever 21′s Knotted Mineral Wash Tee ($14.80), American Apparel’s Chiffon Double-Layered Full Length Skirt ($58.00) and Miss Me’s NOTCH-1 Pump in Purple ($34.95).

Avril Lavigne styles

Avril Lavigne showed off this handbag from her Abbey Dawn clothing line on an episode of Extra. She explains, “The whole vibe of my line is I love black, so you see a lot of black, studs and skulls.” This faux fur “Midnight Bag” contains all of those elements. You can buy it for $49.95 at JustFab (you’ll need to sign up for an account here), $75.00 at AbbeyDawn.com, $75.00 at Too Fast, or £74.99 at Grindstore.

Avril Lavigne wore head to toe Abbey Dawn for the launch party of her Abbey Dawn shoe and handbag line though JustFab. JustFab is a subscription shoe service and although they don’t stock the full collection, they offer the best deals on Abbey Dawn shoes in the US with heels and flats priced at $39.95 and boots for $49.95. The “Pretty Please Platforms” that Avril wore at the event are $65.00 at AbbeyDawn.com and $39.95 at JustFab.
For the rest of her outfit, Avril wore the black and white flag print Rockstar BFH Zip Hoody ($60.00) and Reputation Leggings ($30.00) with skulls on the back of the ankles, both from Abbey Dawn

Avril Lavigne Abbey Dawn clothing lineIn this photoshoot for the launch of her Abbey Dawn line of shoes, Avril Lavigne wears the studded black “Rock On” boots, $49.95 at JustFab or $100.00 at AbbeyDawn.com. Avril has paired them with the Abbey Dawn “This Means War” Hoodie ($39.95) which has a broken heart on the chest, devil horns on the hood, and black and white striped lining. She wears a basic red dress underneath, like the Cotton Spandex Jersey Scoop Back Tank Dress from American Apparel ($40.00).

Avril Lavigne moccasin outfitHaving own fashion line sure has its perks – one of those being that you get to wear your own clothes long before anyone else. For months Avril Lavigne has been wearing shoes from her yet-to-be-released Abbey Dawn shoe collection, but now some of the items that she wore earlier in 2011 are finally available. Pictured here is the What the Hell Hoodie ($18.98) and the Sailors Beware Rock Tee ($27.50) which has a cute heart anchor graphic. This tee is one of many nautical-themed items in the most recent Abbey Dawn collection. Her beaded black moccasins are the Minnetonka Thunderbird Softsole ($39.00). Her jeans have a really gorgeous wash, but I can’t find them or anything quite like it. The closest I found are Bleached Cargo Jeans from ASOS ($152.19).

HOW TO GET PERFECT SKIN

spaskinspa

Skin Type: Normal

Spa Fix: Maintain the good skin you already have and get a fresh glow. Kate Somerville, L.A. facialist to Jessica Alba, suggests an exfoliation treatment that combines a physical scrub and a chemical peel, followed by intense hydration. If you don't need them, don't let your facialist do extractions, which can lead to blotchiness or marks.

Skin Type: Normal

Best Regimen: Commit to a daily routine. Doing this wards off future problems. "Start simple: a gentle cleanser and sunscreen," says New York dermatologist Amy Wechsler. Try Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser ($7.10) and L'Oréal Paris Active Daily Moisture Lotion SPF 15 ($17.99). At night, use a repairing moisturizer. Try Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream (left, $7.99)

Skin Type: Sensitive

Spa Fix: Facials can be too irritating for sensitive skin. But if you want to deal with dullness, Olga Lorencin-Northrup, founder of L.A.'s Kinara Skin Care Clinic and Spa, suggests you go for a gentle, customized, glow-boosting treatment without exfoliation. Porcelain-skinned star January Jones stops by Kinara before she hits the red carpet.

Skin Type: Sensitive

Best Regimen: New York and Miami dermatologist Fredric Brandt recommends avoiding sodium lauryl sulfates and artificial fragrances. Use a mild cleanser, like Dior Gentle Cleansing Milk (left, $32), then a physical-block sunscreen. Try Burt's Bees Chemical-Free Sunscreen SPF 30 ($15). Moisturize A.M. and P.M. with a soothing lotion like Estée Lauder Vérité Moisture Relief Cream ($50).

Skin Type: Dry/Aging

Spa Fix: Opt for a facial with moisturizing masks or a hyaluronic-acid treatment. Somerville's Dermal Quench infuses the skin with serum to give you a glow that lasts for days. New York facialist Christine Chin, who counts Rachel Weisz as a client, also recommends monthly microdermabrasion. "Your skin will look five years younger," she promises.

Skin Type: Dry/Aging

Best Regimen: In the morning, use a gentle cleanser, like Dr. Brandt Time Arrest Crème Cleanser ($50), and apply an SPF with antioxidants to prevent collagen breakdown. Try Lancôme Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 Lotion ($45). At night, use an antiwrinkle serum. Try Nude Advanced Cellular Renewal Serum (left, $92), which contains collagen-stimulating bioactive peptides.

Skin Type: Oily/Acne-Prone

Spa Fix: Get a monthly facial with extractions. This can make a world of difference for acne sufferers. Getting rid of congestion before it comes to the surface can prevent future breakouts. Exfoliation is key, but consult your skin pro on what is best for you. Chin, who cares for Zoë Saldana's complexion, warns, "Microdermabrasion can actually make acne spread."

Skin Type: Oily/Acne-Prone

Best Regimen: Twice a day, use a mild cleanser. Overwashing and harsh astringents strip the skin and exacerbate "rebound oil." During the day, apply a mattifying SPF. Try SkinCeuticals Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50 ($30). At night, use a retinoid, which will stop breakouts before they happen. "[Prescription-only] Differin is the least irritating," says Brandt.

Skin Type: Oily/Acne-Prone

Star Product: Skin Effects by Dr. Jeffrey Dover Glycolic Peel Kit ($24.99). Wechsler says that if used at night, glycolic acid will help control oil all day. The kit starts with a glycolic-acid-soaked pad to exfoliate, followed by a soothing pad that calms skin.

THE NEW NAIL SHADES: NUDE AND RED

Rich red and blush-tinted nude nail lacquer remain beauty essentials. Barely there pinks spotted at shoes like Carolina Herrera were unfussy and elegant, while the crimson tips at Diane von Furstenberg were confident and chic. "Choose wine-infused reds on fair skin and brighter ones on darker tones," advises manicurist Yuna Parl. "Nudes, however, look great on everyone." Regardless of your shade, "short, oval-shaped nails are the most modern." What's definitely not modern is matching your hands and feet, adds Park. The best combo: "Red nails and nude toes."
